NCIt definition : Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha (378 aa, 43 kDa) is encoded by the human IL3RA
gene. This protein is involved in interleukin-3 signaling.;
NCIt note : Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha is a type I membrane protein with a box 1 motif
for JAK interaction/activation; a WSXWS motif for protein folding, intracellular transport,
and cell-surface receptor binding. It is also the ligand-binding alpha subunit of
the heterodimeric cytokine receptor for interleukin-3 (IL3). Receptor binding to IL3
depends on the cytokine receptor common subunit beta, which is shared by IL3-, IL5-,
and CSF2/GM-CSF receptors.;
