This allele, which encodes Crk-like protein, is involved in signal transduction. The CRKL gene is overexpressed in certain types of cancer such as breast, colon, lung, ovarian and skin cancer.;

NCIt note : The CRKL gene plays a role in the activation of both RAS and JUN kinase signaling pathways. It is also involved in the malignant transformation of fibroblasts by the BCR-ABL oncogene. The CRKL gene has oncogenic potential.;
