NCIt definition : Interferon alpha/beta receptor 2 (515 aa, 58 kDa) is encoded by the human IFNAR2
gene. This protein is involved in interferon signaling.;
NCIt note : Interferon alpha/beta receptor 2 is the beta subunit of the interferon alpha receptor
complex, a heterodimeric receptor for type I IFNs, alpha and beta, which also includes
interferon alpha/beta receptor 1. Binding of alpha and beta IFNs mediate innate immune
responses to viral infection and specific interferon inhibition of virus replication,
triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of JAK and STAT proteins, and autophosphorylation
of and tyrosine phosphorylation by TYK2. IFNAR2 also interacts with RACK1.;
