NCIt definition : DNA repair and recombination protein RAD54B (910 aa, 103 kDa) is encoded by the human
RAD54B gene. This protein is involved in DNA recombination in double-strand break
repair, mitosis and meiosis.;
NCIt note : RAD54B binds to double-stranded DNA and displays DNA-associated ATPase activity. RAD54B
appears to associate indirectly with RAD51 through its N-terminal domain and may colocalize
with RAD54 and BRCA1. Part of a complex involved in meiotic and mitotic homologous
DNA recombination repair, RAD54B plays a critical role in targeted integration and
recombination in concert with other RAD52 epistasis group members without affecting
cell growth, sensitivity to DNA damaging agents, or sister chromatid exchange.;
