Preferred Label : Receptor-Type Tyrosine-Protein Phosphatase Eta;

NCIt synonyms : Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type J Polypeptide; Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Eta; CD148 Antigen; PTPRJ; DEP1; Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type J; Density Enhanced Phosphatase-1; R-PTP-Eta; HPTP Eta; SCC1; CD148; Protein-Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type J; Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type-J; Density-Enhanced Phosphatase 1; EC 3.1.3.48; R-PTP-J; DEP-1; Protein-Tyrosine Phosphatase Eta;

NCIt definition : Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase eta (1337 aa, 146 kDa) is encoded by the human PTPRJ gene. This protein plays a role in protein dephosphorylation, chemotaxis and the negative regulation of receptor-mediated signaling, cell proliferation and cell growth.;

NCIt note : Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase eta is a receptor-type PTP with an extracellular region containing 9 fibronectin type III repeats, a single transmembrane region, and a single intracytoplasmic PTP catalytic domain. PTPRJ negatively regulates TCR signaling, possibly by interfering with phosphorylation of PLCG1 and LAT. PTPRJ also dephosphorylates the PDGF beta receptor, may be involved in UV-induced signal transduction, and may contribute to contact inhibition of cell growth.;
