" /> B-Cell Linker Protein - CISMeF

Preferred Label : B-Cell Linker Protein;

NCIt synonyms : BLNK; B Cell Linker Protein; B Cell-Specific Adaptor Protein; B-Cell Linker; B-Cell Adapter Containing a Src Homology 2 Domain Protein; SH2 Domain-Containing Leukocyte Protein, 65-kD; Src Homology [SH2] Domain-Containing Leukocyte Protein of 65 kD; B Cell Adaptor Containing SH2 Domain; B-Cell Adapter Containing a SH2 Domain Protein; Cytoplasmic Adapter Protein; SLP-65; Src Homology 2 Domain-Containing Leukocyte Protein of 65 kDa;

NCIt definition : B-cell linker protein (456 aa, 50 kDa) is encoded by the human BLNK gene. This protein is involved in co-localizing the B-cell receptor and its downstream signaling targets.;

NCIt note : B-cell linker protein interfaces the B-cell receptor-associated SYK tyrosine kinase with PLC-gamma, the VAV guanine nucleotide exchange factor, and the GRB2 and NCK adaptor proteins. Tyrosine phosphorylation of B-cell linker protein by SYK provides docking sites for these SH2-containing effector molecules that, in turn, permits the phosphorylation and/or activation of their respective signaling pathways.;
