" /> Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 11B - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 11B;

NCIt synonyms : Cell Division Cycle-2-Like-1 Protein; CDK11; PITSLRE Protein Kinase Alpha; CLK-1; PITSLRE A; CDC2L1; p58 CLK-1; CDC-Related Protein Kinase p58; Cell Division Cycle 2-Like 1; p58/GTA Protein Kinase; Cell Division Cycle 2-Like Protein Kinase 1; Galactosyltransferase-Associated Protein Kinase p58/GTA; PITSLRE Serine/Threonine-Protein Kinase CDC2L1; Cell Division Protein Kinase 11B; EC 2.7.11.22;

NCIt definition : Cyclin-dependent kinase 11B (795 aa, 93 kDa) is encoded by the human CDK11B gene. This protein is involved in the modulation of cell cycle progression, protein phosphorylation, cytokinesis and apoptosis.;

NCIt note : Cell Division Cycle 2-Like 1, encoded by the CDC2L1 gene, is a member of the p34Cdc2 serine/threonine protein kinase family. CDC2L1 is expressed ubiquitously and acts as a negative regulator of the normal cell cycle progression. It may function in regulating proliferation by phosphorylation and subsequent plasma membrane targeting of galactosyltransferase. This gene is deleted or altered frequently in neuroblastoma with amplified MYCN genes. CDC2L1 can be cleaved by caspases and play roles in cell apoptosis. A large number of the alternatively spliced variants of this gene exist. (LocusLink, Swiss-Prot); The p110 isoform of cyclin-dependent kinase 11A is expressed throughout the cell cycle; expression of the p58 isoform is induced during the G2/M phase of the cell cycle. (UniProt);
