" /> C-Terminal-Binding Protein 1 - CISMeF

Preferred Label : C-Terminal-Binding Protein 1;

NCIt synonyms : C-Terminal Binding Protein-1; C-Terminal Binding Protein 1; CTBP1; EC 1.1.1.-;

NCIt definition : C-terminal-binding protein 1 (440 aa, 48 kDa) is encoded by the human CTBP1 gene. This protein is involved in oxidation and the negative regulation of both cell proliferation and transcription.;

NCIt note : CTBP1 binds the C-terminus of adenovirus E1A protein. It also interacts with ELK3 and CTIP via their consensus motif. CTBP1 may play a role during cellular proliferation, adenovirus replication and oncogenic transformation. The level of phosphorylation may be regulated during the cell cycle.CTBP1 can form homodimers or heterodimers of CTBP1 and CTBP2. (From LocusLink, SwissProt);
