" /> CXCR2 wt Allele - CISMeF

Preferred Label : CXCR2 wt Allele;

NCIt synonyms : Interleukin 8 Receptor, Beta Gene; Interleukin 8 Receptor, Type 2 Gene; CMKAR2; CDw128b; IL8R2; Chemokine, CXC Motif, Receptor 2 Gene; CD182; Chemokine (C-X-C Motif) Receptor 2 wt Allele; IL8RB; IL8RB wt Allele;

NCIt definition : Human CXCR2 wild-type allele is located within 2q35 and is approximately 11 kb in length. This allele, which encodes C-X-C chemokine receptor type 2 protein, is involved in the mediation of neutrophil migration to sites of inflammation, cellular growth, and angiogenic effects in intestinal microvascular endothelial cells. Allelic variants of the gene are associated with serum-dependent melanoma cell growth.;

NCIt note : Knockout studies in mice suggested that this receptor controls the positioning of oligodendrocyte precursors in developing spinal cord by arresting their migration.;

GenBank Accession Number : NM_001557;
