NCIt definition : Human CXCR2 wild-type allele is located within 2q35 and is approximately 11 kb in
length. This allele, which encodes C-X-C chemokine receptor type 2 protein, is involved
in the mediation of neutrophil migration to sites of inflammation, cellular growth,
and angiogenic effects in intestinal microvascular endothelial cells. Allelic variants
of the gene are associated with serum-dependent melanoma cell growth.;
