" /> CDC25A wt Allele - CISMeF

Preferred Label : CDC25A wt Allele;

NCIt synonyms : Cell Division Cycle 25A wt Allele; Cell Division Cycle 25 Homolog A (S. cerevisiae) Gene; CDC25A2; CDC25A1; Cell Division Cycle 25 Homolog A (S. pombe) Gene;

NCIt definition : Human CDC25A wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 3p21 and is approximately 31 kb in length. This allele, which encodes m-phase inducer phosphatase 1 protein, plays a role in cell cycle regulation and the G1/S transition of the cell cycle.;

NCIt note : CDC25A is a member of the CDC25 family of phosphatases and is required for progression from G1 to the S phase of the cell cycle. The gene activates CDC2 by removing two phosphate groups. CDC25A is degraded in response to DNA damage, preventing cells with chromosomal abnormalities from progressing through cell division. This gene is an oncogene, although its exact role in oncogenesis has not been demonstrated.;

GenBank Accession Number : NM_201567;
