" /> Transformation/Transcription Domain-Associated Protein - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Transformation/Transcription Domain-Associated Protein;

NCIt synonyms : 350/400 kDa PCAF-Associated Factor; TRRAP; Transformation-Transcription Domain-Associated Protein; STAF40; PAF350/400; TRA1 Homolog;

NCIt definition : Transformation/transcription domain-associated protein (3859 aa, 438 kDa) is encoded by the human TRRAP gene. This protein plays a role in the mediation of both protein-protein interactions and histone acetylation.;

NCIt note : Transformation/transcription domain-associated protein is a component of the multiprotein chromatin PCAF histone acetylase complex, TFTC-HAT complex, STAGA complex, and TIP60 HAT and BAF53 complexes, each of which acetylates histone H4/H2A in nucleosomes. TRRAP is required for p53-, E2F1- and E2F4-mediated transcription activation, interacts with GCN5L2, TP53, MYC, E2F1, and E2F4 transcription factors, and it may link E1A, MYC, and E2F1 to HAT complexes to allow transcription activation.;
