NCIt definition : Inhibin beta B chain (407 aa, 45 kDa) is encoded by the human INHBB gene. This protein
is involved in the modulation of follitropin secretion.;
NCIt note : The inhibin beta B chain joins the inhibin alpha chain to form Inhibin-B, which inhibits
follitropin production. Alternatively, the inhibin beta B chain protein is found in
a homodimeric complex, called Activin B, or in a heterodimeric complex with the inhibin
beta A chain, called Activin AB. The Activin complexes stimulate follitropin secretion.
