" /> Transforming Acidic Coiled-Coil-Containing Protein 1 - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Transforming Acidic Coiled-Coil-Containing Protein 1;

NCIt synonyms : Acidic Coiled-Coil Protein 1; Gastric Cancer Antigen Ga55; Taxin 1; TACC1 Protein; TACC1; Transforming Acidic Coiled-Coil Containing Protein-1;

NCIt definition : Transforming acidic coiled-coil-containing protein 1 (805 aa, 88 kDa) is encoded by the human TACC1 gene. This protein may be involved in cell division and histogenesis.;

NCIt note : Transforming acidic coiled-coil-containing protein 1 is rich in serine, proline, and acidic residues, with a 20-amino acid N-terminus rich in tryptophan, and contains two nuclear localization signals but no DNA- or RNA-binding domains. A 200-residue C-terminus with extensive alpha-helical segments is expected to adopt a coiled-coil structure. This nuclear protein is concentrated at centrosomes and interacts with microtubules and tubulin. (Swiss-Prot, OMIMI);
