NCIt definition : Glycerate kinase (523 aa, 55 kDa) is encoded by the human GLYCTK gene. This protein plays a role in the conversion of D-glycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate.;

NCIt note : At least 7 isoforms of glycerate kinase are produced by alternative splicing including isoform 2 (GLYCTK2), which is composed of 234 amino acids ( 25 kDa). GLYCTK2 is the product of a variant transcript that is lacking exon 4 and is localized to the mitochondrial matrix as well as the cytoplasm. (OMIM and UniProt);
