NCIt definition : Dipeptidyl peptidase 1 (463 aa, 52 kDa) is encoded by the human CTSC gene. This protein
is involved in exo- and endo-dipeptidylpeptidase activity.;
NCIt note : Dipeptidyl peptidase 1 is processed into a mature proteolytically active enzyme consisting
of a heavy chain, a light chain, and a propeptide that remains associated with the
active enzyme (called the exclusion domain chain). Unlike other cathepsins that are
active as monomers, dipeptidyl peptidase 1 is a 200 kDa tetramer, where the 4 subunits
are heterotrimers that contain the one light chain, one heavy chain and one exclusion
domain chain. (OMIM and UniProt);
