NCIt definition : A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal translocation t(16;21)(p11;q22) which
fuses the FUS gene with the ERG gene. This rearrangement is associated with acute
myeloid leukemia.;
NCIt note : There are at least 3 variants for the FUS/ERG gene. They result from the fusion of
the first six or seven exons of the FUS gene to exon 9 of the ERG gene or the fusion
of the first eight exons of the FUS gene to exon 7 of the ERG gene. (Atlas of Genetics
and Cytogenetics in Oncology and Haematology);
