" /> CISH wt Allele - CISMeF

Preferred Label : CISH wt Allele;

NCIt synonyms : Suppressor of Cytokine Signaling Gene; SOCS Gene; Cytokine-Inducible SH2-Containing Protein wt Allele; CIS-1 Gene; Cytokine-Inducible Inhibitor of Signaling Type 1B Gene; G18 Gene; CIS Gene;

NCIt definition : Human CISH wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 3p21.3 and is approximately 5 kb in length. This allele, which encodes the cytokine inducible SH2-containing protein, is involved in the suppression of cytokine signaling. Deletion of the CISH wild-type allele may play a role in the pathogenesis of renal cell carcinomas and of lung cancer.;

NCIt note : The CISH gene is expressed as three isoforms (1, 1B, 1C), which are produced by alternative splicing, and the tissue distribution of isoforms 1 and 1B is distinct.;
