NCIt definition : Human CCL19 wild-type allele is located within 9p13 and is approximately 2 kb in length.
This allele, which encodes C-C motif chemokine 19 protein, plays a role in thymic
T cell trafficking and in B and T cell migration.;
NCIt note : CCL19 is expressed in lymph nodes, thymus, appendix, colon, trachea, spleen, small
intestine, lung, kidney, and the stomach. This gene is one of several CC cytokine
genes clustered on the p-arm of chromosome 9. CCL19 also plays an important role in
trafficking T cells in the thymus, and in T cell and B cell migration to secondary
lymphoid organs.;
