" /> Hsp90 Co-Chaperone CDC37 - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Hsp90 Co-Chaperone CDC37;

NCIt synonyms : CDC37; CDC37 Homolog; Hsp90 Chaperone Protein Kinase-Targeting Subunit; p50Cdc37; CDC37 Protein; CDC37 Homolog Protein;

NCIt definition : Hsp90 co-chaperone Cdc37 (378 aa, 44 kDa) is encoded by the human CDC37 gene. This protein is involved in post-translational protein targeting.;

NCIt note : CDC37 Homolog, encoded by the CDC37 gene, is a protein highly similar to Cdc 37, which is a cell division cycle control protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. CDC37 Homolog is a molecular chaperone with specific function in cell signal transduction. It forms complex with Hsp90 and a variety of protein kinases including CDK4, CDK6, SRC, RAF-1, MOK, as well as eIF2 alpha kinases. It plays a critical role in directing the chaperone HSP90 and targeting it to the CDK4 protein kinase, thereby promoting stability of CDK4 in regulating cell division cycle.
