H-Cadherin lacks the conserved cytoplasmic region and is attached to the membrane by a GPI-anchor, unlike typical cadherins. Highest expression is observed in the heart. CNS expression is higher in adult than in fetus. A putative mediator of cell interactions, this cadherin may inhibit neural cell growth.;
