NCIt definition : A preparation of autologous T-lymphocytes that have been genetically engineered to
express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the tumor-associated antigen
(TAA) transmembrane 4 L six family member 1 (TM4SF1) and containing a safety/kill
switch composed of a truncated form of the human epidermal growth factor receptor
(ErbB1t; EGFRt HER1t), with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities.
Upon administration, the autologous anti-TM4SF1 CAR-T cells specifically recognize
and bind to TM4SF1-expressing tumor cells, resulting in tumor cell lysis. TM4SF1 plays
a key role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility,
and is overexpressed by a variety of tumor cells.;
