" /> Histone Acetyltransferase KAT5 - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Histone Acetyltransferase KAT5;

NCIt synonyms : cPLA2 Interacting Protein; TAT Interacting Protein 60; HIV-1 Tat Interactive Protein, 60kDa; HTATIP; Histone Acetyltransferase HTATIP; HIV-1 Tat Interactive Protein; EC 2.3.1.48; cPLA(2)-Interacting Protein; TIP60; 60 kDa Tat-Interactive Protein; Lysine Acetyltransferase 5;

NCIt definition : Histone acetyltransferase KAT5 (513 aa, 59 kDa) is encoded by the human KAT5 gene. This protein is involved in DNA damage response, histone acetylation and transcriptional activation.;

NCIt note : TIP60 interacts with the activation domain of Tat, an activator of HIV gene expression. The yeast SAS2 transcriptional silencing protein, important for exit from the cell cycle, is closely related to TIP60. The widely expressed cell surface amyloid-beta precursor protein is cleaved by gamma-secretase and its cytoplasmic tail forms a multimeric complex with the nuclear adaptor protein FE65 and the histone acetyltransferase TIP60. This complex potently stimulates transcription. (from OMIM);
