NCIt definition : A fusion protein that is encoded by the DNAJB1/PRKACA fusion gene. This protein contains the N-terminus of DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 1 protein fused to almost the entire cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PKA C-alpha) protein. The chimeric protein lacks the PKA C-alpha domains that interact with PKA regulatory subunits.;

NCIt note : The DNAJB1/PRKACA fusion protein is expressed in a pattern that differs from that of the wild-type PKA C-alpha protein but it demonstrates PKA C-alpha kinase activity. (Science. 2014; 343: 1010-1014.);
