" /> Secretory Phospholipase A2 Receptor - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Secretory Phospholipase A2 Receptor;

NCIt synonyms : PLA2-R; Phospholipase A2 Receptor 1; 180 kDa Secretory Phospholipase A2 Receptor; M-Type Receptor; C-Type Lectin Domain Family 13 Member C;

NCIt related terms : PHOSPHOLIPASE A2 RECEPTOR; M-Type Phospholipase A2 Receptor; PLA2R;

NCIt definition : Secretory phospholipase A2 receptor (1463 aa, 169 kDa) is encoded by the human PLA2R1 gene. This protein plays a role in the modulation of phospholipase activity.;

Alternative definition : CDISC: An antigen encoded by the PLA2R1 gene and is involved in the modulation of phospholipase activity. It can be considered as an autoantigen and is commonly associated with autoimmune disease membranous nephropathy.;

NCIt note : Secretory phospholipase A2 receptor is either cleaved by metalloproteinases or the gene underogoes alternative splicing to form soluble secretory phospholipase A2 receptor (Soluble PLA2-R or Soluble PLA2R), which is comprised of the entire extracellular domain of the receptor. The soluble form acts as a negative regulator of the membrane bound form. (UniProt);
