NCIt definition : A monoclonal antibody directed against colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R)
with potential antineoplastic activity. CSF1R monoclonal antibody IMC-CS4 binds to
CSF1R which may trigger antitumoral antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity
(ADCC) in tumor cells overexpressing CSF1R. CSF1R, also known as macrophage colony-stimulating
factor receptor (M-CSFR) and CD115 (Cluster of Differentiation 115), is a cell-surface
receptor for its ligand colony stimulating factor 1 (CSF1); this receptor is overexpressed
or mutated in certain tumor cell types and plays major roles in tumor cell proliferation
and metastasis.;
