Superfamily) at 17q25 appears to be expressed at high levels in all tissues as a 2.2-kb
transcript (highest in gastrointestinal tissues). Oncogenic transformation, viral
infection, or pathogen invasion enhance MAC2BP production. LGALS3BP is elevated in
the serum of cancer and HIV patients.;
