" /> XCL1 wt Allele - CISMeF

Preferred Label : XCL1 wt Allele;

NCIt synonyms : SCYC1; SCM1; LTN; LPTN; ATAC; SCM-1a; Chemokine (C Motif) Ligand 1 wt Allele; SCM-1; SCM1A; Small Inducible Cytokine Subfamily C, Member 1 (Lymphotactin) Gene;

NCIt definition : Human XCL1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1q23 and is approximately 5 kb in length. This allele, which encodes lymphotactin protein, is involved in lymphocyte trafficking and inflammatory processes.;

NCIt note : XCL1 is expressed (0.8-kb mRNA) in activated CD8 T cells, in spleen, thymus, small intestine, lung, prostate, and ovarian tissues. XCL1 differs from XCL2 by only 2 amino acids; XCL1 encodes Asp7, Lys8 (mature protein) instead of His, Arg as in XCL2. XCL1 is chemotactic for CD4 and CD8 T cells, but not for monocytes or neutrophils, and induces increased intracellular calcium in peripheral lymphocytes; XCL1 induces migration of cells expressing XCR1.;
