NCIt definition : A preparation of autologous T-lymphocytes that have been genetically engineered to
express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting human fibroblast growth factor
receptor 4 (FGFR4), with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities.
Upon administration, autologous anti-FGFR4 CAR T-cells recognize and induce selective
toxicity in FGFR4-expressing tumor cells. FGFR4, a receptor tyrosine kinase, is involved
in angiogenesis and in the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of tumor cells.;
