NCIt definition : A cancer vaccine consisting of a non-integrative lentiviral vector encoding the detoxified
forms of the human papillomavirus (HPV) subtypes 16 and 18 viral oncoproteins E6 and
E7, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration,
HPV 16/18 E6/E7-encoding lentiviral vector-based vaccine Lenti-HPV-07 may elicit a
specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against cancer cells expressing the
HPV 16/18 E6 and E7 oncoproteins, resulting in tumor cell lysis. HPV infections and
HPV oncoproteins play a key role in the development of cervical and other cancers,
including oropharyngeal and anogenital cancers.;
