This prevents EGFR-mediated signaling, induces cell death and inhibits tumor growth in tumor cells expressing these EGFR mutations. EGFR, a receptor tyrosine kinase mutated in many tumor cell types, plays a key role in tumor cell proliferation and tumor vascularization.;
