The main subtype of pancreatic adenocarcinoma is ductal adenocarcinoma, which is the most frequently seen type of pancreatic carcinoma. The carcinomas that arise from the endocrine pancreas (islet cells) are neuroendocrine carcinomas (small cell and large cell neuroendocrine carcinomas).;
