" /> Inactive Tyrosine-Protein Kinase PEAK1 - CISMeF

Preferred Label : Inactive Tyrosine-Protein Kinase PEAK1;

NCIt synonyms : Pseudopodium Enriched Atypical Kinase 1; PEAK1; Pseudopodium-Enriched Atypical Kinase 1; Tyrosine-Protein Kinase SgK269; Sugen Kinase 269;

NCIt definition : Inactive tyrosine-protein kinase PEAK1 (1746 aa, 193 kDa) is encoded by the human PEAK1 gene. This protein is involved in the modulation of focal adhesion dynamics.;

NCIt note : The catalytic activity of inactive tyrosine-protein kinase PEAK1 has been a subject of controversy. In vitro studies found weak tyrosine-protein kinase activity. However, the crystal structure indicates that the kinase-domain contains a closed nucleotide-binding cleft and a thermal-shift assay indicates that the protein is devoid of nucleotide binding activity.
