NCIt definition : An agonistic monoclonal antibody targeting the immune-activating pattern recognition
receptor (PRR) dectin-2 (C-type lectin domain family 6 member A; CLEC6A), with potential
immunostimulatory and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, anti-dectin-2
agonist monoclonal antibody BDC-3042 targets, binds to and activates dectin-2 expressed
by tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in the tumor microenvironment (TME). This may
lead to the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, repolarize TAMs
into immunostimulatory macrophages, and enhance antigen processing and presentation,
thereby promoting phagocytosis of tumor cells and T-cell-mediated anti-tumor immune
response. Dectin-2, an activating C-type lectin receptor (CLR), is expressed by TAMs
in various tumor types.;
