Preferred Label : Sutetinib Maleate;
NCIt definition : The maleate salt form of sutetinib, an orally bioavailable, mutant-selective, epidermal
growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor, with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon
oral administration, sutetinib selectively targets, irreversibly binds to, and inhibits
the activity of various EGFR mutations, including the less common mutations L861Q,
G719X, and S768I. This prevents EGFR-mediated signaling in susceptible tumor cells.
This may both induce cell death and inhibit tumor growth in EGFR-overexpressing tumor
cells. EGFR, a receptor tyrosine kinase mutated in many tumor cell types, plays a
key role in tumor cell proliferation and survival.;
