Preferred Label : ILT-3 Antagonist MK-0482;
NCIt synonyms : ILT3 Antagonist MK-0482;
NCIt definition : An antagonist for the immune inhibitory receptor leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor
B member 4 (LILRB4; immunoglobulin-like transcript 3; ILT3; ILT-3), with potential
immunomodulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, ILT-3 antagonist
MK-0482 targets and binds to ILT-3. This prevents the binding of ILT-3 ligands to
the ILT-3 receptor and prevents ILT-3-mediated signaling. This inhibits ILT-3-mediated
immune suppression, thereby activating anti-tumor immune responses. ILT-3, an immune
inhibitory receptor expressed on immune suppressive myeloid-derived suppressor cells
(MDSCs), functions as an immune checkpoint that negatively regulates T-cell activation
as its extracellular domain inhibits T-cell activity. It plays an important role in
tumor infiltration, T-cell suppression and immune tolerance.;
