Preferred Label : Anti-mesothelin Antibody-drug Conjugate BMS-986148;
NCIt related terms : BMS-986148;
NCIt definition : An antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) composed of a human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal
antibody directed against the cell surface glycoprotein and tumor-associated antigen
(TAA) mesothelin and conjugated, via a valine-citrulline linker, to the cytotoxic
agent tubulysin, with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration of anti-mesothelin
ADC BMS-986148, the monoclonal antibody moiety targets and binds to mesothelin. Upon
internalization, the tubulysin moiety inhibits the polymerization of tubulin into
microtubules. This leads to cell cycle arrest, induces tumor cell apoptosis, and may
inhibit cellular proliferation of mesothelin-expressing tumor cells. Mesothelin is
overexpressed by all mesotheliomas and a variety of other cancers, while it is minimally
expressed in normal tissue.;
