ICD-11 definition : Neonatal Myasthenia Gravis (MG) refers to the clinical MG syndrome caused by passively
transferred maternal auto-antibodies to the newborn. This disease mechanism has been
described for all three major forms of MG, including Acetylcholine receptor, Muscle-specific
kinase and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome antibodies. Frequency is 10-30%. The
neonates present with weakness, hypotonia, respiratory depression. The symptoms subside
over 1 to 4 weeks.;
