The impact of migration on groups with strong ethnic or regional identities is assessed. The development of group-related activities in areas such as individual or family businesses, leisure, and retirement is explored. Consideration is given to relationships between migrant groups and the towns to which they have moved, as well as the impact of emigration on the places they have left. The primary geographical emphasis of the article is on Europe. (summary in ENG)
