Differences in probable population developments in France by region up to the year 2000 are examined. The authors note that the West and Southeast of the country will still be the regions likely to grow more rapidly and that the Northeast and Ile-de-France will be the regions of slowest growth. However, overall, such regional differences are likely to become increasingly less pronounced. (SUMMARY IN ENG AND SPA)
