Résumé

Population trends in Yugoslavia from 1971 to 1981 are analyzed using data from official sources, including the 1981 census. The authors note that the rate of population growth is declining in all regions of the country except Slovenia. With regard to changes in population distribution, a trend toward semi-urban areas is noted, in addition to a decline in the rate of growth of major urban areas. The impact of regional variations in the unemployment rate is also considered. The rate of emigration has remained relatively constant as the decline in labor migration has been offset by the emigration of workers' families.
