NCIt definition : A humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting the T-cell differentiation antigen
CD6, with immunmodulating activity. Itolizumab binds to CD6, downregulates the activation
and differentiation of T cells, prevents CD6-mediated activation pathways and reduces
the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines. CD6, a co-stimulatory molecule predominantly
expressed on lymphocytes, is involved in the adhesion and maturation of T cells.;
