A produces reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as singlet oxygen, damaging endo/lysosomal
membranes and accumulated cytotoxic agents are released into the tumor cell cytosol.
This photochemical internalization (PCI) method can enhance the efficacy and selectivity
of cytotoxic agents.;
