NCIt definition : A species of aerobic or facultatively anaerobic, Gram-positive, coryneform, pleomorphic bacilli assigned to the phylum Actinobacteria. This species is nonmotile, non-spore forming, catalase positive, pyrazinamidase positive, esculin negative, non-lipophilic, and ferments glucose and sucrose; some strains are hippurate, and urease positive. C. glucuronolyticum is commensal in the urinary tract and vagina, but has been associated with urogenital infections.;
