NCIt definition : A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum
Proteobacteria. This species is motile, positive for urease, beta galactosidase, lipase,
ornithine decarboxylase, citrate, and pyrazinamidase and negative for oxidase, indole,
and lysine decarboxylase. It is able to ferment rhamnose, inositol, and sorbitol but
not melibiose, raffinose, sorbose, or cellobiose. Y. aldovae is found in water and
soil and is not known to be a human pathogen.;
