ferments glucose and sucrose, non-lipophilic, indole negative, and hydrolyzes gelatin.
C. striatum is commensal in the skin and nasal flora and is a pathogen known to cause
bacteremia in immunocompromised patients with respiratory infections, skin ulcers,
or during surgery.;
