NCIt definition : A type of clinical study in which subjects are assigned to one of two treatment arms
at the beginning of the trial and continue in that arm throughout the length of the
trial. Study subjects are only exposed to the treatment that is assigned to the particular
study arm they are enrolled in.;
Alternative definition : CDISC-GLOSS: A trial design in which subjects are randomised to one of two or more
arms, with each arm being allocated a different intervention for the duration of the
study. NOTE: These interventions will include the investigational product at one or
more doses and one or more controls, such as placebo, an active comparator, or both.
