NCIt definition : An orally bioavailable, blood-brain permeable muscarinic receptor antagonist, with
muscle-relaxing and antiparkinsonian activity. Upon oral administration, pridinol
targets, binds to and blocks muscarinic receptors located on postganglionic parasympathetic
nerve endings and on smooth muscle cells. This blocks the activity of acetylcholine
(ACh) and causes its muscle relaxant effects. This may relief involuntary movements,
spasms and muscle stiffness in Parkinson's disease and other neuromuscular disorders.;
