NCIt definition : Human XAGE2 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of Xp11.22 and is approximately 7 kb in length. This allele, which encodes G antigen family D member 3 protein, may be involved in the modulation of testicular functions. The gene is expressed aberrantly in Ewing's sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, a breast cancer and a germ cell tumor.;

NCIt note : This gene is a member of the XAGE subfamily, which belongs to the GAGE family. The GAGE genes are expressed in a variety of tumors and in some fetal and reproductive tissues. Because of the expression pattern and the sequence similarity, this protein also belongs to a family of cancer-testis antigens. (Entrez Gene);
