NCIt definition : Human CDK16 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of Xp11.23 and is approximately
12 kb in length. This allele, which encodes cyclin-dependent kinase 16 protein, plays
a role in cell cycle regulation.;
NCIt note : The CDK16 gene plays a putative role in signal transduction pathways in terminally
differentiated cells. A study in mice suggests that this gene may also be involved
in the negative regulation of insulin-responsive glucose transport. The CDK16 gene
produces two RNA transcript variants which encode the same protein.;
