" /> RRM1 wt Allele - CISMeF

Preferred Label : RRM1 wt Allele;

NCIt synonyms : RR1; Ribonucleotide Reductase, M1 Subunit Gene; Ribonucleotide Reductase, Large Subunit Gene; Ribonucleoside-Diphosphate Reductase M1 Chain Gene; Ribonucleotide Reductase, R1 Subunit Gene; R1 Gene; RIR1; Ribonucleotide Reductase M1 Polypeptide Gene; Ribonucleotide Reductase M1 wt Allele;

NCIt definition : Human RRM1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 11p15.5 and is approximately 44 kb in length. This allele, which encodes ribonucleoside-diphosphate reductase large subunit protein, is involved in reduction of ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotide precursors for DNA synthesis in dividing cells.;

NCIt note : Overexpression of the RR1 gene decreases the efficiency of several anti-cancer drugs in patients undergoing chemotherapy. However, certain variant alleles of this gene are associated with increased survival of lung cancer patients following tumor resection.;

GenBank Accession Number : NM_001033;
